Menifee, Riverside County
Menifee became a city in 2008, joining the communities of Sun City, Quail Valley and Menifee Valley. Sun City came first: developer Del Webb opened it in 1962 as one of the earliest retirement communities of its kind in California. Newer neighborhoods have since filled the valley along Interstate 215, and Menifee is among the faster-growing cities in the region.
