The Menifee Valley Campus is located at 28237 La Piedra Road, Menifee, California 92584. The campus opened in October 1990 as the Mt. San Jacinto Community College District's second campus. The district itself was formed in 1960, and the first Board of Trustees met in 1962. Growth and expansion
By the end of its first year of operation, the Menifee Valley Campus enrolled 2,100 students, demonstrating strong community demand for local higher education. The campus now serves 12,000+ students per semester across the district, making it a major educational institution in the region. The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District itself was formed in 1960, with the first Board of Trustees meeting in 1962 and initial students enrolling in fall 1963 in rented facilities. In 1975, the district's service area expanded to include the Temecula, Lake Elsinore, and Perris areas, growing to 1,700 square miles. The Menifee Valley Campus specializes in the college's Allied Health programs.
The campus has undergone significant facility expansion to accommodate growing enrollment and evolving educational needs. Allied Health and Fine Arts buildings opened in 1995–96, expanding the campus's instructional capacity. A Learning Resource Center housing the library and tutoring services opened in 2006, providing vital student support services. A Business & Technology Center, offering instruction in Geographic Information Systems, Multimedia, and Photography, opened in 2008. A two-story Humanities & Social Sciences building opened in 2012, accommodating enrollment growth in liberal arts and general education courses. An Athletics & Kinesiology Complex, funded by local Measure AA, was scheduled to open in 2023.
Campus services and facilities
The campus includes support services such as a student center and veterans resource center, along with a health center, cafeteria, bookstore, and counseling services. Additional STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) buildings were under construction, funded by Measure AA and Proposition 51. The campus provides all-gender restrooms at six locations across Buildings 500, 700, 800, and 6000, ensuring accessible facilities for all students and visitors.
Mt. San Jacinto College operates four campuses in total: Menifee Valley, San Jacinto, Banning, and Temecula. The Menifee Valley Campus serves as an educational anchor institution within the local community, providing affordable access to higher education and workforce training opportunities. Since its opening in 1990, the campus has been integral to the educational and economic development of Menifee and the broader Riverside County region.
